If we study last 20 years of Chiplun Medical field development. During beginning of this century, there were 30-35 consultants in Chiplun. Few surgical, gynecological, ENT and ophthalmology hospitals were doing good job with limited resources and lot of limitations. There was not a single physician’s hospital or nursing home in whole of Chiplun town. Even the doctor fraternity was afraid of one situation, what will happen if I will get a Myocardial infarct. Investigation modalities were restricted to basic. Every consultant was wishing to have a full fledge multi-specialty premises in Chiplun. The main question was who will bell the cat?

In 2008 our group of Synergy health care decided to start a multi-specialty hospital. The plan was sketched, the land was selected, and work started. It took four and half years to make our dream come true and on 28th of April 2013, Dr. Lad declared this premises “Lifecare Hospital” functional. Here the new era of medical development began. Other groups got the instinct from us and now Chiplun has become a hub in field of medicine.

To stand first in our endeavor become our routine. The first multispecialty hospital of district, The first ICU of Chiplun, The first one in Chiplun to start a ER (Emergency room) concept with 24 hours casualty officer, The first IVF center of Taluka, The first oncocare center in Konkan, The first and latest radiation center in Konkan belt, the first PET scan in Konkan belt, The first private MJPJ center in Chiplun, The first Cath lab in the region, The only center doing maxillo-facial work.

Four consultants (Med, Surg, Ortho and Gynae), 18000 sq ft of space with all the basic and few advanced machineries, 4 RMO’s, a staff of 30-40 people. These were our resources in April 2013 at the inaugural ceremony. Initial hiccups were there as our hospital was at the outskirts. There was study and continuous progress in the following years. In 8 years the hospital is expanded up to 55000 sq ft. 150 plus staff and 8 inhouse consultants and few visiting. Oncology unit is complete, with radiation, pet scan, surgical and medical oncology. IVF department is the first one our taluk to fulfil the dreams of couple having difficulty to conceive. Whipple, esophagectomy, commando, and radical hysterectomies become the routine procedures.

To have all the facilities and faculties under one roof,
Cost and maintenance of individual set up is reduced to one good set up.
To work in best of the institute setup,
To get best of the opinions due to multispecialty set up,
To share the responsibility of medico-legal consequences,
To reduce the cost of corporate culture and to give same treatment and facilities.
To keep alive the humanitarian values which are lacking in recent set ups.

I don’t know how far we achieved our goal? The goals are there to give us a new challenges. We don’t want the goals to end, We will set new goal for the future. With your support and good wishes we will try our best to achieve new heights in medical field.
